Life expectancy of M3's

Hey....I have a 97 M3/4 and I have about 71,000 miles on it. I was wondering how many miles an M3 can go without beginning to die out.

change the oil every 2000 miles, be a maintainence freak, and i bet you could get another 130k out of it...all depends on how the car is treated and what it's past history is

honestly man that's a real vague question...the m3 is one of those cars that people like to abuse then sell, believe me i found out the hard way

Don't change your oil every 2,000 miles, that does NO good for the car. The oil probably hasn't even started to break down. 3,000 mile mark is just a marketing term. 4,000 miles is fine and that is even on the safe side. If you are on synthetic, 7,500 is a good interval.

My friend has a 95 M3 with 111000 on it, and it pulls strong as hell still. It is bone stock and iit is a contender with my modded one. I have no doubt they can last up to 200K before rebuild if properly cared for.

Good question, I just got mine, 97 M3. It's at 72k now. It doesn't pull as hard as it should, I need to get it looked at.

It is a psycological problem, not a mechanical problem. Everyones car tends to feel slow over time.
