You aren't kidding, are you? The M3 GT is a pure racing vehicle.
444hp and 0-100 in 7.0 seconds at 2450 lbs. The CSL would be destroyed in a race against that. It's an apples to oranges comparison really.

but isnt there a big difference between the m3 GT and the m3 GTR?

the link posted above was for the GTR and im pretty sure the euro GTs are a tamed version of that.. but still a crazy beast.

but i might be wrong. im not too familiar with them since, well, im never going to own one.

Oooh , there's a 3-series V8? I couldn't find anything on Google (searched for "BMW GT V8" and "M3 GT V8") but I'll take your word for it just for comparison's sake.

I'll go out on a limb and say, if their weights are pretty similar, that the V8 would probably beat the CSL around a racetrack by a few seconds simply owing to a superior torque curve--the same way that the M3 GTR (linked to in the second post) handily outpaces the Porsches with their H-6.

The M3 GT was only available over seas and was the euro version of the M3 LTW. It only came in British racing green w/ cf trim, mexico green seats and a Mtrsport tuned 3.0l euro engine bumping hp from 286 to 295hp. I think the thread starter was asking who would win in a race between the above car mentioned and the new M3 CSL which has not gone into production yet. Just clarifying things. Later

i read on some forum that the csl was either faster or not much slower then the gtr. I just wanted some more info!!!!!!!!!!!!
