Looking for info on a blue 95 m3 & odometer fraud

Hello guys and gals...can anyone tell me the name of the blue 95 m3? I am trying to pick one up. I found one with 22,500 miles on it. Its 99.9% flawless but its all the way in CA, and I live in FL. Anyhow the guy who owns it is 25/ish and he is the origanl owner. I didn't see any other cars in his driveway and I think he cut the tack off for a good part of the life of this car. I ran a carfax and it comes out clean but I'm just wondering how hard would it to be for someone to turn off the odometer?

I'ts called AVUS blue.

There is no way to turn the odometer off, if you tamper with it, there is a light that comes up and stays on that indicates it has been tampered with.

He could however had purchased a device from germany that rewrites the mileage, it costs about $800.00....thats the only way to truely rewrite the mileage.

As long as you have it checked at a BMW certified place and you look at the condition of the car you should be able to spot a M3 with 22.5K miles on it without a problem. It should basically be brand new!

seems to good to be true.

when you go to see it, have him come with you to a BMW dealership to have it checked out. 22.5k on a 95 seems pretty iffy.

i would expect it to have 80 - 120k on the clock.

would there be anyway of checking to see if it WAS tampered with?

and how much are you paying for it anyway?

it is possible that the car might have only 22k on it, maybe it was a weekend car of some sorts. its possible but highly unlikey that a 25 year old has owned that m3 for his whole life and only put 22k on it

Never heard of anyone disconnect the odometer on a BMW. You will loose the use of the spedometer when you disconnect the odo. That is a lot of trouble to go thru just to take off some mileages.

We have a 1954 chevy truck with 54,000 miles. Hard to believe but true.

What do you mean by it zeros out? Does it display all 0's or do you have to get it re-programmed by the dealer. I wouldn't think it is uncommon to have people who work in dealerships help out friends for a 12 pack.

I got my car in Canada and had to get the cluster changed to one with mph instead of kph. When the new one was in it read zero miles and the dealership put a sticker in the door with the miles before the cluster was changed.
