What is a M3 type "R"??

I was at a car dealer the other day, and the guy was trying to sell me a "E36 M3R"
He said the R had 300kw, dual fuel tanks, was just heaps faster etc.
It was No 7 of 15.

So yea, more infor on them please

Either it's really rare or another name for the Lightweight version??

Type R sounds like a DAMN HONDA!! ffs.

Oh well i'd buy it if it does have 300kw's ! that would be a nice ride.

Ok There Where 15 made this was no 7, The seats where Fabric with M colour stripes on them, but the sides od the seats where swade, Under the car was real flat, so it was more airo dynamic, it had Dual fuel tanks, a mad rear spoiler with 2 levels on it, It had heavy duty front and rear sway bars, it was lower and had different suspension, inside there was a Silber BMW badge saying M3 R No 7 of 15, inder the hood it looked almost the same. but it was 300KW!!! thats 50 more KW than the E46 M3

And asking $85,000AU which is the same price as a brand new E46 325ci

holly snikes. i say buy it. it sounds like the interior is the light wieght interior. however all the rest of the mods sound like a la mans automobile. and 50 kw more then the e46 m3 for cheapier then a e46 325. sounds like a good deal. maybe ill go to austrailia and buy me one of those.
