92 325i m3 engine swap?

i have a 92 bmw 325i and am wondering what needs to be done or if it is possible to drop an m3 motor in my car?

if anyone has done this or knows anything about doing this than give me a holla!

Do a search. There is tons of info on this on the board in very detailed threads.

It is a good swap. Especially if you put a 3.2L with OBD1

supposedly it just drops right in, but keep in mind that m3 tranny's are different so if you were to do this, you would need a new tranny. if you were to do this, you could order a used edm (euro domestic market) engine and edm tranny... if you have that kind of money. otherwise, you could go with the 3.2 and drop it in.

should be fine, I know of a shop here that did a swap on a E30 325is and they installed a E36 3.0 liter M3 motor and used a 325is 5 speed tranny. From what I was told the 325is tranny is a little lighter than the M3 tranny just not as beefed up to handle the hp and torque but it is good to about 350 crank hp whereas the M3 is good for more than that.
