Old M3 suspension in 328?

Hey guys,
I was trying to put my 96 328i suspension back to stock height with stock springs when, to my dismay, i found that even with the help of spring compressors i couldnt get the stock height spring small enough to fit over the old shocks that had settled in to it's lowered height.
Thats when i decided it was about time to upgrade my 97 M3 suspension with some bilstien shocks. I figured i could raise the 328 with the stock m3 suspenstion. The only question i have is will they fit?
