| pretty soon my parents will be buying me another car and it will either be a 325is or an M3. with the 325is i could take the extra money and add to my cash and possibly buy an AA Stage I turbo kit, wheels, and then save money for several months and possibly purchase a widebody kit OR i could get an M3 and keep it pretty much stock for the next several months, maybe a year or so, untill i raise enough money for an AA turbo kit which would you do? | I havent gotten it on the dyno yet, i would take the 325 turbo, maybe im biased? But im pretty sure i will be able to smoke any stock M3, i dont stand a chance against my cousins RMS Stage 2 SCed M3. I am planning on getting it dynoed soon, but also doing a custom exhaust so the numbers would be different, better flow = better hp. The kit will cost you $8700 to the public and another $1000 to install, and also you would probably wnat to ship it to AA if you cant find a shop to do it for you. I installed the turbo with my cousin so the labor was free Oh yes and you will need a stick, i just finished my tranny swap not too long ago. . . .id get 325 but M3 pretty much comes with everything, dont need to mod those much to get em goin'. Turbo is kick ass. . . . . ![]()

| Hmm..yes the 325 will be faster with a turbo. However, it really comes down to what you are looking for. The M3 will be more reliable than a turbo 325 long term. Although you are planning upgrades, the M3 has a beefier suspension and tranny, not to mention brakes. (which are expensive to really upgrade). It will also retain its value better. However, the insurance will be higher. Personally, get the M, dont try to compete with it(and I own a 328 here, so no need for flames . Besides, when the M gets a little boring, you can always fool with that.(I hear JimC has a killer cam kit coming out soon, the AA turbo, etc.)It seems to me, if you do want to do modifications, get a 95.

You haven't been a member of DTM for too long, huh? There are kids with E46 M3s here...a 325is is nothing. |
