| on the flipside, the 96+ has 0.2 l more displacement, significantly more low-end torque, 10 hp or so more power out of the box despite the identical official rating, traction control for snow/wet, 4-channel ABS instead of the 95's 3-channel, more rear grip from larger rear tires (some people call this added understeer, I call it more rear grip), electronic climate control (no big deal), lower emissions, nicer exterior trim (no big deal)...
97s have optional side airbags, 98 and 99 had them standard (this is really important to me), 98-99s had the lighted shift knob (no big deal, but kinda nice), 99s and some 98s have the 3-spoke steering wheel (some people like it, some prefer the 4-spoke), 98-99s have welded swaybar reinforcements that you have to add to a tracked 95.
and the "not tunable" is a myth if you know what you're doing, although it wasn't always that way (it does cost more for a 96+). However if you're asking what the difference between 95s and 96s is, then you likely don't know what you're doing...
lastly, good luck finding a low milage 95. they're definitely cheaper though.
