BMW ///M3 Mirrors Question

Hello All,

One QUestion:

If someone has M3 mirrors that were on a covertable M3 but the mirrors do not have the bases. Will they my existing bases of my sedan or would i have to buy brand new bases? Or will these only fit coupes and convertibles.

hehe, i think most of these people will think ur a thief... why? Because there was a thread that wasl ike "How to take m3 mirrors off" And this guy was asking about it, and people were accusing him of being a thief, so then a buncha people said it would be no use in stealing them from an m3 and putting them on an e36 because they don't sell bases seperate just because of that, now, those people steal m3 mirrors w/o bases to be put on civic's and accords and such, thus don't need bases, i wouldn't really think you're a thief though, anyways, yeah, i'm pretty sure i'm right, but wait for an expert to come answer ur questions, later

The mirror bases of sedan and coupe are NOT interchangable.

Thank you all for your replies.

First of, I an not a thief or have anything to do with that thread you mentioned. My situation is this: Someone is selling oem bmw m3 mirrors from a convertible w/out bases and I figured that if a get a base from sedan mirrors maybe the mirrors will fit.

I also didn't know that you couldn't buy based at BMW.

In an attempt to located M3 mirrors inexpensively, there are a couple of posts on Ebay that don't have bases. My thought, prior to reading these posts, was that I could pick them and them buy the bases.

Thanks for the info all...now I know that the Ebay posts might be the real thieves!
