That would be awesome, height of the shade when extended would be great too. Thanks Ben.

I have been keeping my eye out for one, so far have only been able to locate black ones local to me... and I'd rather not have to paint... but I know finding an estoril hardtop anywhere within driving distance is going to be very difficult....

... but I may have to add the rear shade retrofit back to my mod list for my E39

Re

That is a very cool and rare feature on E36 M3s.
The only inconvenient moment would be when you want to open or close it and nobody is in the rear so you have to get in the back to do it.

Very clean install, but... why?

I only use the power rear sunshade in the M5 for one thing ever-- when people flip me off, I put it up just to screw with them. Block their middle finger.... and then put it down again when they're out of sight. Even that requires a power rear shade to really happen.

Beyond that, I've never found a use for it... and it's extra weight, possible source of rattles, etc. So, my question: what is your intended purpose for this?

It limits the UV exposure to the rear seat or rear seat headrests (if you have them)

I used the power sunshade in my S6 all the time. But that was Dubai, sun was a bit more intense.

That was what I thought the purpose was... but I've never desired that while in the back of a car...
