Dyno'ing an Autotragic

i just had a thought about dyno'ing automatics. this would apply at least to E36's.

couldnt you just get the car into limp mode to lock it into 3rd? i ask because the guy had problems with my car downshifting on him last time i had it dyno'd. (mayb im the only one with this problem)

now besides wrecking the car(if possible i'd rly rather not lol), wat else will put it into limp mode?

Uhhh, why not just use the manual gear select option on the shifter...

it will still downshift.

for example. if i put it in 3rd, it will go into 3rd above a certain speed, but will not go any further PAST 3rd.

i can put it into 3rd at a stop light and drive off and it will shift and drive normaly except it wont go into 4th or 5th. it will stop at 3rd. This is the same for 2nd and 1st.

honestly, its only good for keeping revs thru corners or droppin into gear to race from a roll.

oh, and doughnuts. mmmmmm.

Weird... A GT1 tool might be able to keep it in gear while you dyno...
