I enjoy having a car that looks good and is fun to drive. It's hard for me to imagine that these people honestly think a car that rubs, scrapes and looks bad is the sh!t. They probably do it just to be different. Either they're brain dead or they will likely grow out of this phase.

Why is it that when someone on Bimmerforums posts pictures of their "stanced" e36 and they're obviously on coilovers, people always ask them "what suspension are you on"? Is it because whatever coilover kit they have, they simply lower it all the way down? I still check that forum regularly and I don't recall seeing anyone in the Rides & Styling section actually measure their ride height.
