| TMS have many chips depending on the mods you put your car through. But they say they have a chip that improves the performance of an unmodified car. Here's the description of that chip: The E36 M3 benefits greatly from a TMS Performance Chip. Although premium fuel is recommended by BMW, the car is not optimized for it. Significant horsepower and torque gains can be had by switching to a TMS Chip and using 91+ octane fuel. Tuned specially for the E36 M3 on the dyno with Bosch expert Jim Conforti, this chip provides a smooth power delivery from low RPM up all the way up to redline. Conforti achieved this by altering the fuel and spark maps along with the cam timing to take full advantage of premium fuel. The result is a big boost in power, more usable torque, and a smoother-running engine. The rev limit is raised and the top speed limiter is removed. There are NO downsides to installing a TMS Performance Chip; it is FREE, easy-to-install horsepower. The performance chip optimizes ignition timing and fuel curves which results in increased horsepower and torque. We have dyno tested these chips and compared it to all the others and found it to provide the most horsepower and usable torque. Must use 91 octane or higher gasoline. All chips are warranted for as long as you own your BMW and also come with a 30 day performance guarantee; if for any reason you are not fully satisfied with the increase in power and overall driveability you can return the chip to TMS for a full refund.

| i had one installed in my 95 M3 for about 6 months. it was the first mod i did. i did notice i little better pull and it def help smooth out the engine. once i did mods like intake and exhaust i rly started to notice the difference.

| These aren't VWs. You can't just chip them and get horsepower.

| quoted from turner motorsport ( Turner Motorsport - Item# E36M3CHIPS - E36 M3 1995 Turner Motorsport Conforti Performance Chip - E36 ) Horsepower Gain + 19 @ 5000 RPM Torque Gain + 16 @ 3500 RPM New Rev Limit 7000 RPM now i realize these number are probably optimistic and that bmw motors are hard to improve on, but i do not doubt that there is some gain to be had from having a more aggresive fuel and spark map.

Mod the motor, then get software. No reason to buy software if you're going to have to buy it again later. But before you even mod the motor, how good is your suspension? your brakes? your cooling system? General maintenance? You don't want to start modding your motor until you have all of that under control.

| Software is worth it IMO for the spark advance and higher redline, especially on the S52 w/ bolts ons. But since you have a 95 wait till you get the 3.5 in hfm ect. |

| don't waste your money on these. I was thinking about getting a performance chip too, but it looks like these things don't do crap. I was reading this article about it, and it looks like these things don't work at all |

| Look I agree that brakes and suspension and especially maintainence are key. But I'm sry I believe that there are gains even if minor from a retune and the benefits are even more so with mods. Bmw motors as a rule are hard to get serious gains from period. <-(period lol see it?) As they come highly tuned and well engineered from the factory. Just my 2 cent.

Yes, but you want to mod first, then retune. No point in getting a chip/tune, then getting a new part because then you have to get another tune. Motor modifications should be done all at the same time and then tuned. Otherwise you're wasting a ton of money.

| you guys are dumb these chips help the car run and preform better, it does increase torque and hp i suggest you buy one and try it out for yourself. you will hear the car run smoother and feel the 19hp difference.
