GO OEM OR GO HOME..... (sorry it had to be said) For the most part your going to get this opinion from members of this forum. There are plenty of other forums out there that your post will generate a huge number of responses, including details on exactly how much bondo your going to need to filling the 2" gap between the body and the piece of 2cent plastic hanging from it. They'll also tell you which spray can paint will be the closest match to factory paint or better yet what the "SWEETEST" color body kit would be. Not here...(i would hope) I don't mean to be harsh, but these are not cheep cars they deserve to be treated like the high-end pieces of engineering that they are. That means nothing less than factory specs in terms of replacement parts, that means PREVENTATIVE maintenance, that means no cheep body work, etc. These cars look best when they are clean, i.e. only a real enthusiast can tell that the car is anything other than stock. Trust me on this one, there are plenty of beat on examples out there, plenty of body kits, plenty of horrible engine mods, but clean examples are getting more and more scarce. You have to decide which end of the spectrum you want to be on; the end that has clean well maintained cars that will become the sought after classics of tomorrow or if you want to fall by the wayside and let your car become another junker. Once again OP, please don't take offense to any of my statements this isn't a personal attack on you in any way. I just wanted to share my thoughts and i hope that you decide to go with stock parts.... I thought i had seen a set of silver twist skirts for sale in one of the FS sections on another forum, i'll keep an eye out for you.

| i totally agree with the whole philosophy "go oem or go home".....but the question is where do i get an oem side skirt? and how much is it going to cost me? the link i sent isnt some crazy riced out kit or anything and the reason i liked it was it looked very close to oem.... i have no idea how much oem side skirts are going to run .... what do i do? please advise! |

Look for both just body panels and whole part cars. Like i said there are lots of beaters out there that get wrapped around trees, rear ended, t-boned, etc. you should be able to locate all the parts you need (granted they may very well be different colors so paint will be needed). Heres just one example but they're are lux skirts so personally i would be a pass, but the price seems right: BMW OEM e36 Sideskirts M3 105 OBO Look around you'll def find what you need.
