| Rubber shift boot in center consol Ordered a new one the other day.....temps in OKC have been in the 100's since mid June. Most e36's I've been in the AC leaves alot to be desired and any hot air coming in the cabin does'nt help.
I've heard and seen post's complaining about hot shifters and I noticed that mine was a tad warm but not terribly bad. Pulled out the leather boot and removed foam sound pad and what did I see but the damn rubber boot was completely torn all the way around....two pieces. That might explain a little heat getting up in the cabin, shifter hot syndrom.
Of course I know its gonna get warm being what it is and where it is,but every little thing helps. It was cheap.....$16.00 that's pretty cheap for a BMW part and it took all of five minutes to changeout.
