fiveightandten, how long have you had ambers now?

The clears look much better, great move!
Thanks Lief. The car has had ambers since it rolled off the production line. I bought it in August '07.

Nick - the clears look SO much better on red than ambers, don't they?
I think they both have their charm. But i'm definitely digging the change that the clears have brought to the car. Got the red and white theme going on with it now. It'll stay that way for a while.

Tischer?

Looking good though!
I got the corners and side markers from BMW Parts, Porsche Parts, Audi VW Mini Volvo Saab Mercedes Auto Parts - RM European Auto Parts They were a bit cheaper than Tischer, they post on BFC and seem to be good guys, so I thought i'd give them a try. Also, free shipping on orders over $65. I picked up a new clutch pedal from them too. I've got some side to side slop that new bushings didn't take care of. Everything arrived pretty quick and packed well.

The tails I picked up from a local forum member that's selling his car and pulled them off. He gave me the stealth bulbs for the tails. But FYI, the corners from RME came with red bulbs that have a different connector on the back than what's in the car. The bulbs themselves also couldn't be used with the connectors in the car because the bases have the little nubs at different clock position (ones in the car are at 6 and 12, the red ones are at 6 and 2). I don't remember the bulb number off hand, but they're different. I'll have to pick up some stealth bulbs, as I have the clear ones in there now. They flash clear, which I don't believe is DOT legal.

Oh and I did a quick solo night shoot last night. Apologies for the dirt it accumulated...it was pouring rain Friday. Got stuck out in it.

Anyways. Here's a few more with the MSI emblems on...

Thanks Joe. I was hoping to get those 2 a little more exposed so the bottom of the car shows, but I was getting some off flare off the lights that I didn't notice on the display screen. Another thing I like about these shots is that because I set my white point to the lights over the car, the ones in the distance look blue. Anyways, thanks for the kind words...means a lot coming from someone that takes amazing pictures.

Thanks Ben. I was going to give you a call, but I figured it was past your bedtime. We have to get your car out at night. Estoril after dark is

We should do that up...and some paint correction. Soon.

Wow, those night pictures are sick!! Your car has come a long way

Let me know when you plan on doing paint correction so I can take a ride up there. I probably won't have my Flex 3403 for another few weeks, but I'll bring my Menzernas and PC with pads up...

Or if you want to bring it down here one day, we can do that too...

Thanks man. It's all little stuff that's been changed. Makes a difference I guess. Gotta love Big Red though. Here's a pic from the FS ad right before I took the car home.

I'll keep you updated on the detail. The car has never seen any polish, so it's definitely time to do it up. I figure one big day to pull the moldings off, wash, clay, wash, polish, wax. I'm going to clay it and hit my front end with some touch up paint to fill some of the chipping. Hopefully that stuff will buff down enough to not be too noticeable.

If you do touch up paint, I can do some wet sanding and buffing. It will definitely take an entire day though, so be prepared. Let me know whenever - I've got an R8 in the garage for the next week that I'll be slowly working on, and I've got 2 other cars I need to do before Friday, but other than that I'm free.
