DA motorsport WARNING

Hello, i'm Rene and sorry for not introducing first, and for my bad english sometimes...
i will introduce later but i've got a story wich makes me soooo mad, this comes first.

i've had my e36 m3 for 4 years now and i was getting used to the power, 317 bhp. so i opted for FI. after searching a bit i found the well known AA, PPF and also the well known" DA motorsport. the rwinturbo kit he offerde looked good on the pics so a contacted him about a lower price, as 11000 euro's is a lot of money...
i made a deal with Mert for 8500 euro in 3 terms, 500 first, then 4000, and later the other 4000. after the last payment that's when the shit started...
he send me an e-mail in wich he told me where i could buy the turbo chargers cheaper, so i asked him why. His answer; turbo's are not included in the kit for this price.
I told him that we agreed 8500 euro for the KIT. his answer; customer is always right, so he send me the turbo chargers, after he send me a big box with several small parts, gaskets and nuts and bolts, tubes and so on.
but no intercooler, inlet manifold or exhaust manifold's.
i send him a mail when those parts would arrive.
his answer; parts need to be fabricate, do you want the raceport BOV?
I wsaid yes, ppayed him the extra cash for the raceport and he informed me that he would modify the inlet tubing for the bigger BOV.
several mails later (about 80, questioning about when the rest will arrive) i send him my original ECU for him to tune because he asked me to. send a second ECU because something went wrong with postal service.
week later recieved a mail that he recieved 2 ECU's. so i told him to keep one original and send it back, and tune the other one. and again asked when my LAST box would arrive.
Box would be send one week later. so 2 weeks later, still nothing, no answers on my mails because this joker goes on holliday every week.
finally recieved the "last" box, with a broken fan, 2 exhaust manifolds wich look like shit, a very very bad welded inlet manifold and a damaged intercooler wich leaks and my (he says...) tuned ECU ( the one wich i told him to keep original...).
still a lot of small parts where missing and also intercooler piping and BOV still not here, also the piggyback didn't arrive. so i send him some mails again, asking him to send me the manual by mail so i could see what was missing an tell him what i still needed, this took almost a month, for a manual... when reading the manual i found out half the kit wasnt here, and something else caught my eye; why doent this kit use the lambda sensors? because as the manual says, they have to be removed and not used... stange. i asked him some questions about it and again it took very long to get answers, wich dont sattisfy me.
but still i needed the intercooler piping, BOV, Piggyback and intercooler brackets, so asked him when they would arrive.
"next week" he told me.
soooow, last week i recieved a box, the finally "last" box, again, opened it, and found 2 tubes, with spider webs in it, lokked further threu the box but found only paper, even a dutch newspaper!
but still no piggyback and intercooler brackets and al small parts i'm still missing.
i send hime some very angry e'mails this week but no answers any more, so i think i'm stucked with a shitty, half turbo system, wich has costed me incl shipping, about 9500 euro, in dollars much more and a very, very bad feeling that i got frauded by such an asswhole. makes me say, FUCK TURKEY!!! but its just Mert Dastan.
and i feel stupid that i didn't listen to people who told me to drop the Mert bastard and pay a bit more for a good working, nice finish SC or turbo kit from a company with a goog service.
i feel soooo fucked, just wanted to share my story with some one.
if somebody else reads this and has the same experience, please tell me and contact me, because me and my lawyer need a lot of evidence

o yeah, the Mert asswipe stole my other ECU as he dont want to send it back.

gues i stay to N/A for a while as Mert ripped me from a lot of money.

and if someone wants to buy the pieces i have, just bid and ask for pics.

greets, Rene

hello, sorry for late response but i'm always on the road and not home much. I made some pics but left the cam in my truck, i will post them next weekend.
exhaust manifold are not that bad welded, prety good actualy, but theyre not efficient (in my opinion...) just look at their site, or search for "da-motorsport exhaust manifold". or wait till next week.
biggest problem is that my kit is not complete, my intercooler leaks (grinded over, post pic) and that comunication with the bastard is very difficult.
he keeps making promisse to send me the Moristech piggyback, oil feed and return fittings for turbo's and my turbosmart raceport BOV, but nothing is send.
last mail i send i asked him to pay me back my money so i will send him back his piece of shit turbo system.
best of all is that he created a 758 (or something)WHP e46 m3, and in my opinion he did that with my money.
now i'm NOT rich, i have to work hard for my money so this really hurts.
see you next week, bey

hello, so after a pretty long time i'm back again, here some pics from another forum, this is not only to vent my problem, this is more to prvent someone else making the same mistake, this crap has lost me a lot of money and nobody deserves to be ripped op by such a bastrd. also some posts i placed...

turbo's are garret gt22, but not modified like mert says.
and about being warned, yes, your right. but there was 1 person who thought the kit was ok, just the person i spoke to, also one who could kill him, rijarob, should have listend... still cant believe i'm so stupid, but it has happend and i will make the best off it.
but i'm a person who believes that its not SOMEONE who fools you, but you let yourself GET fooled by someone, so my own stupid mistake.
i asked my lawyer and mert's company is still registerd. since when is his shop closed?
i sometimes go to Istanbul so next time i go there, because he will pay, one way or the other.

but ok, if you people can help me to make my own good working turbokit with what i have i will do just fine.
i was carmechanic so can do a lot myself, biggest problem is finding someone who can really tune a piggyback or even standalone the right way.

exhaustmanifolds will be used as ashtrays, they will do the job just fine, i think... i'll have some tubular made somewhere, maybe the same ass Svein with his m3 gt.
intercooler is welded but needs to be modified (in my opinion) because airflow is restricted.
for the rest i need to buy the V-port bov back from my friend.

but if someone has some ideas please let me know.

ciao!

thanks Gerard.

here some pics of the "quality" delivered by DA-chickensport, enjoy!

now, does this look new?!

scratches...

great welding, and if you look good you can see that some pipes are welded and some arent.

here you can see it better.

intake from inside, looks like its been made from pieces of alluminium.

the DA-motorsport exhaust mani from wich mert says "very efficient", all bend.

again the intake mani, looks like its been glued, not welded.

this is the 2nd hand tsi (moristech) piggyback, as it arrived, without screws and if you look good you see that in the small hole there's no connection for manifold absolute pressure hose, wich should be there according the instructions manual

here you see the seal is broken so no warrenty

unmodified intercooler to intake pipe, wich is 40 mm, should be 50 mm with a flange for a v-band clamp. "new" bov and modification costs me 500+ euro, i get 2nd hand an no modification and no extra spring...

and here my favorite...

look good and you will see a small hole, wich according to Mert MUST had happend while transport...

for the rest the kit isnt THAT bad... but this piece of crap above IS the kit.
one + though... turbosmart hoses are pretty good, look cool and the stainles steel clamps are really strong, so something of high quality has arrived.

ow, and these are the 2 strutbraces for in the trunk...

very compact...

so if someone wants to go FI, dont make the same mistake as i did.
good luck

this was my update, i recieved the package yesterday and contacted Mert because of my problems, hes reply... well, just read and see...

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

thanks phillipe.
here sort of an update;
after i placed this thread Mert wanted me to delete this thread, then he would send me the rest of the parts, so nothing left to do but waiting...
he has send me several e-mails in wich he asked me "please remove the threa"d because parts are send".
so what i should have recieved where;
-a new turbosmart raceport bov
-a new morristech piggyback
-intercooler brackets
-2 banjo bolts (oilplugs) and 4 washers for the turbo oil feed
-2 oil return lines/ fittings
-and a wiring diagram for the tsi.
-2 rear strut towers for the inconvinience, as he said...
-and my own, original ecu.
now, glad i didnt remove the thread because today i recieved my "last" package, again...
what i recieved;
-a used, dirty and damaged raceport without fitting
-a used and opend morristech piggyback wich only was closed by 1 (one!!!) screw
-4 parts of 2 strutbraces.

so i was pretty pissed again and started to mail him again.
he told me the BOV was a new one because it was stored in his "warehouse".
well, it was dirty, scratched and there was a dent. i opend it to find the rubber inside being dirty wich is normal, when used...
the bolt on top was damaged.
so i try on my engine if it stays shut with my vacuum (wich wont be different when turbo is on it) but it didnt, it stayed open, so useless with the original sprin, but the spring he also did not send. and he tells me the kit is tested and proven?! tested? if i test it on my car and find out its not ok, why cant he?
so i send him a mail again to ask when the rest will arrive, "box will be shipped today". yeah right...
then i went away to get my intercooler repaired but the guy told me it was not possible because the hole was near the soldering, and when it gets welded it gets to hot so the solder would melt, ****...
so i send mert another mail that the intercooler was unrepairable.
Mert tells me it had hapend while transported, not at da motorsport...
so, while shipping its normal to pack a grinder with the intercooler?
because thats whats hapend, the grinder made a small hole in it and the MOFO didnt check his quality intercooler, he just send it to belgium.
and right now i take a look at my piggyback to see there is no connection for the MAP tube from inlet manifold, wich should be there according to his instruction manual...
also he refuses to send me the wiring diagram by mail, so i'm a bit stucked right now...
then i send him an angry mail and what i got back is this;

Rene,

This time it is enough.

Do not threaten me. Do what you want. I sent all your parts even after your

thread.

The ****ing intercooler can be damaged on transport. Maybe not here. I

can send you a brand new one.

The tsi is opened for control/ so it is working.

Dont ever threaten me. Do as you wish.

I sent you almost all parts and now you act like a homosexual.

You understand nothing, and talk about my manifolds.

Regards

MD

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

it could be me but please have a look at the pics i will post tomorow, let me know if the bov is new, let me know if the damage to the intercooler is possible by transport
and maybe someone can tell me how the hell i'm suposed to use my piggyback when there is no connection for the MAP sensor.
well, ill be starting a lawsuit as soon as possible and see what will hapen.
ciao!

Class action lawsuit.....
I'd say you could get better TIG welds from a drunken 12 year old.
And the intercooler issue.......not just packing in a grinder, but a running grinder as well.

Long live this thread until ALL problems are sorted.
Good luck Rene. Hope it all pans out

To DA Motorsport: Ever heard of quality control? Customer satisfaction? I know your final products have made good power in the past, but the pictures I see are appaling at best.

@ Batser - It is very unfortunate that you had to experience such a troubled business transaction with that company but, please do not blame or insult Turkey or its people for an individual's mistakes.

What a terrible shame. I saw the article from DA Motorsport in bmw perfromance mag and at the time I was impressed. It's a real shame that his work doesn't hold up to the hype especially for all that money. I hope you get every penny back and then some. This dude should be ashamed. Go to turbocharging dynamics or The racers market. They'll get your turbo woes sorted out. Wish you the best.
