Blaupunkt CD43 is the one you want. Higher power than it's predecessor.

I have a stock Alpine radio off my 97 M3...If you don't get the "Higher Power" Blaupunkt.

An allen wrench will work in place of the "special bmw radio tool". Two screws under a little flip out cover on either side of the deck, pull out, and detach harness. If you look closely at the harness you can see how it comes off. Dont just yank it off, rather there is a part of the connector you pry up that unlocks it from the deck. Look closely my son, and you will see the light
