| 98 e36 M3 misfiring how's everyone doing. Hope all is well. Anyway, I have a 98 M3 sedan, manual shift. I bought the car from a single owner who used to race with it every now and then in some motor sport division. When I bought the car, it was driving fine with the check engine light on, but when I let my mechanical hook it up to his computer, there were three cylinders misfiring. I mean the car was a little rough when idling, and whenever I went to pull off the motor would rumble a little so that the whole car shakes. I don't know what to do abou that, I want to go the dealer but, I was wondering if anyone new what was going on. If anyone can helo please help me.. |

| don't go to the dealer. That's the last place you want to go. Try these guys: Bavarian Performance Group or any other BMW independent shop around town.

| i would go to autozone and get the codes read to determine if/what cyl is misfiring. it could be as simple as a sparkplug or boot. it could be a coilpack. it could be an internal problem. it's best to understand where the issue is occurring and start with the easiest.

| HEY BATMAN I THANK YOU ALOT MAN. These guys at BAV are freaking da bomb. They fixed taht in no time. Yeah also refering to BADGTHO, my previous mechanic hooked it up to a computer and it told me which ones were misfiring. Apparently when my previous mechanic put in the o2 sensor because he thought that's what it was, he had placed it backwards. however that still no true diagnoses as to why it was misfring because the guys at BAV also reprogrammed the DME. Sweet, CAR RUNS FINE, doing donuts is as easy as eating them. THANKS GUYS you guys are great. Thanks Batman, oh yeah can't wait to see your new movie coming out soon. |
