short shifter

how do you get the shifter off for starters? and then how does everything come out nicely so that i can get at the the main part to get it out to replace it with the new one?

do it from underneath the car and u should see the pins and it comes out nice and easy

pay some one to do it. it is a pain in the a**. Did one in an old e36 .promised myself i would not do it again. i spent 6 hr. doing last one . shop did my as ssk in 1.5 hr. well worth it

how did it take you 6 hours? it hardly takes 45 minutes. you just get under the car, remove the circlips, and just switch out the shifter from the inside, and then put the circlips back on.
