that certainly occurs.. in my car quite frequently.
its very easy to confirm what's causing it.. there is a special $100 reader that can tell you what code is triggering the warning.
that sensor is an easy install and costs around 150 bucks.. i would not worry about it.
i would get a prepurchase inspection done on the car and if thats the only problem with the car, then i would say you're doing pretty good.
i woudl think than anyone with an M3 over 75k miles has seen an SRS light or 2.
