Heat Moist

99 e36 m3, just came to a moist climate from a dry one(Houston Texas to Sitka Alaska). Now I am wondering if my slightly moist heat is from dying heater core(gulp), or just the climate change from dry, to temperate rainforest? Maybe somehow has to do with clogged cabin microfilter? Bums the shit out of me, just got this thing and dont want to start tearing the car apart already. Any help, lemme know

is your coolant full? does your heat smell?

i doubt that the microfilter could have that effect.

coolant full, very minor smell of the dreaded maple syrup-ish nature. some fogging of windsheild, but goes away on its own. methinks very small core leak, just hope not. What do you think of pour in treatments like silver seal? My worries are that shit is gonna have some effect on cooling efficiency and or clogging of the cooling jackets in the block, or clogging the core itself. Any help here much appreciated...

loosing coolant on the most minor level...like a tablespoon a day. Dont notice any drop till a week or so goes by. Did notice that heater core replacement is WAAYYYYYY easier on this car than anything else I have worked on! Thank god for BMW TIS program...e-bay rules!

well if you cannot pinpoint the loss of that coolant then i think the heatercore could certianly be the culprit.

its certainly not a cake-walk in these cars from what i've observed. i have never done one in an E36 but i would not want to!
