| ASC two stage? Cause for problem Thursday night I was playing around in a lot as it was raining, just practicing second gear drifts blah blah. Sometimes when i would oversteer and loose it and end up rolling backwards it seems the brakes were harder to depress, sometimes i would have to apply some insane pressure to get them to lock(abs) or it would seemas if the car wouldnt want to stop. My pads and rotors do need to be replaced, but this was odd as it only happened when i was rolling backwards after a violent whip around. (this happened maybe 5 times, 4 of the 5 times i really noticied the brakes were lacking) I tried with the ASC just clicked off, and also with it held down for 10+ seconds, each time the same result. Any ideas

| Wont stop going backwards? Surprise, gone backwards when I had an Alfa in the 1970s, man takes a lot of ground to stop, think in the Alfa it was to do with the wedge caused by the cut outs in the anti rattle plates between the caliper pistons and pads. Drum Brakes had short length shoes on rear half of each brake to cause a servo effect - makes the brake self assist, less pedal pressure but of course anti assist going backwards. In the 1970s they had wooden tyres and Jam tin shocks and no power so going backwards happened when ever it got away from you |

The reason i would guess something about ASC is i remember reading something about one of the ASC stages having to do with the braking system. Although now i am thinking all cars will just require a lot more brake pressure to recieve the same stopping power in reverse, due to fr/rr brake power split? 70/30 or something like this? (ie in reverse, trying to stop, less weight on the fr tires where the power is, and more weight in the rear where the brake power is lacking?) Something's def. different in reverse, just trying to figure what it was exactly.
