After reading this analysis from UUC and comments from a few other forums I got the UUC shortshifter comparisons of BMW short shifters

A little expensive - but very good quality and feel

uuc evo3 with dssr, its the best shifter on the market as it eliminates most of the free gear play

Did you bend it in a press before installing so the gear shift stayed in the same place in neutral? I've got the mz3 shifter too and think its great. I also have a rogue clutch stop, which I feel is a ncessity. The mz3 lever is cheeeaaap compared to all the real "kits".

UUC Evo3 with DSSR out-of-the-box is a great fit from my M3 E36. If you want a quality item then this is the kit one should consider.
