| I think most of the bigger companies are good. I think the biggest difference between a great kit and a bad kit is the software. I prefer RMS... BTW, I have a Stage 2 RMS kit for sale if anyone is interested (400hp). Email me at spencer.bunting@colorado.edu |

| hardware wise almost all kits are the same, the difference is software. Dinan knows there software stuff well, but then then price is high. I would recommend you look into ESS, they seam to know how to deal with the software issue very well. |

From what I have heard the RMS Stg 2 is the bext s/c you can buy, add some AA water/alchohol injection and you'll be doing alright. |

| Retail prices: Dinan Vortech SC for an OBD2 M3 - $5,995 - Near flawless track record, certain aspects approved by BMW, offers a suplemental drivetrain warranty package, was priced in the highest bracket but now is offered at an average price, optional aftercooler not available for M3's RMS Vortech SC for an OBD2 M3 - $5,995 - Poor track record, software tuning issues, more documented cases of problems then any other tuner carrying superchargers for BMW's, recent personel change rumoured to have fixed those issues, offered at an average price, optional aftercooler kit available ESS Tuning Vortech SC for an OBD2 M3 - $4,895 - Currently has no US based support, new company for the US market(could be good or bad), talk of an optional afteercooler kit, competitive pricing ERT Vortech SC for an OBD2 M3 - $6,395 - No software, uses a rising rate fuel pressure regulator, high price however the units are currently on sale for less, future stability of the company is questionable, optional aftercooler kit available, custom kits available

| my friend at the dealer told me that it is posssible to put togher a whole dinan supercharger kit without the dinan name on a few things except the chip for around 2 grand he said all i needed to do was get a some shop that did a lot of turbo/sc work to custom make some of the pipes. He said it's really not worth the money( talk froma stealer) He said that it could be made a lot cheaper. So i'm thinking about going the custom way. what do you guys think. What parts would you recommend to definitly be dinan? 2 grand sounds nice. |
