| Amir, Now that I am at the point of making my own kit, let me say there is no way to make it for 2000. Both the Vortech and the Powerdyne S/C's alone are 1800 a piece, nevermind the pulleys and idlers you need to make them work. The bracketry is more complex than it looks, and has to be very precise to fit the S/C, clear the other components, etc. You need a custom crank pulley. Each part ends up being a few hundered dollars, and this is assuming you have them designed and on cadcam. This is why my kit is 3500, and I am not making much money at it. If my kit could be less, it would be.

| Powerdyne in the house!! I have a Powerdyne on my 95 M3. I heard all the talk that it's beltdriven, and that after major track abuse it will snap. That's fine, cause I drive the car on the road anyway. It is silent, and I've had it in exactly a year now with over 5K miles. I bought it off of Blown M Compact, who ran 9+lb of boost off of it, and I'm only doing 6! Stress wise it's safer wher I am. Prior to buying the kit, Lou had it sent in to ERT, and they did an upgrade to remove the flaws, and to tune it. They say that if it starts to go, you can hear it anyway. Let me tell you it works great! The car puts down a healthy 300 at the wheels, and I anticipate bumping the boost to 7.5 LBs once I do water injection. I would like to replace the flex tubing with a pipe simply because I think the flex tube creates more air tubulance than necessary, but it's truly minimal. This kit with 7.5 lb boost, cams, HFM, 30lb injectors will make 400 hp at the crank. More than that makes no sense from a car that won't put the power down without slicks, and will snap driveline components with too much grip. The power is so smooth, that I feel like I transplanted a 540i V8 into my car, without the understeer! ![]() If I keep the car, I may upgrade to the Vortech, just for reliability... Either RMS, Dinan or ERT will work well for you. Period. They all have healthy enough track records to prove it.. Greg Last edited by Hellred : 11-07-2001 at 11:36 AM. |

| Along the supercharger line, if you start putting down that much hp are you going to need to either 1) Upgrade your clutch along with it, or 2) End up buying a new clutch real soon after. ?? That's a lot of pressure to put to a clutch that wasnt' designed for it...Thanks.

| You pass 350, and it's a wise choice to do a clutch. While you're there, you drop in a flywheel etc... I figured that my car was designed off of the Euro model that makes a little less than where I am now (with SC), so I can assume the clutch should handle the juice for now. g |

| I had to repace mine because the clamping force wasnt enough to grab. I had a 325 clutch too, so if you got an M3, your stock clutch will prolly be fine for a while. Now I got an M3 sports clutch and LW flywheel, and it grabs way better.
