so pretty much all the SC's are vortec's. but stylin you have to admit if you have a new car with a warranty and you can save it by spending extra cash going with a company that will not void warranty it has to be worth it. at least from the warranty point of view. unless the other companies have some kinda supplemental warranty???

oh and does dinan have 2 super chargers??? like the powerdine and then the vortec??? or am i wrong

good luck with your modding

Warranty has been over for me for a while.. Besides.. Dinan SC will only warranty anything in ur drivetrain if u BUY the extra supplemental warranty from Dinan at the time of the SC purchase from an authorized Dinan dealer where u must have ur SC installed. So I wonder how much that extra warranty must cost..

It is irrelevant how much the Dinan supplemental warranty costs because no one else offers anything as comprehensive.

I guess it would be relevant for those who have to buy such an expensive warranty + Dinan authorized labor wouldnt it..

Dinan use to only deal with Powerdynes because they had near silent operation. But there were some issues with internal belt reliablility. They switched to using Vortechs on the M3 but I believe they still offer non M3 kits with the Powerdyne.

So....

So, for me...it looks like the best bet is to go with Dinan. Let's keep it on topic. Thanks

well vortech is the best s/c for any car. i know many are gonna shout and hollar. call the local dinan retailer and ask if they make a vortech for your car. they might not list it on their sitre. i know they make a s/c for my e30 m3 it is good for 110hp gain.

well... lets see...

supercharger, polished, at RETAIL (i dun pay retail for anything), is 1100bucks roughly... then you got max of a couple hundred for a new pulley and belt, and an allowance of 500 bucks for some custom brakets and making up 1 new pipe... the intake side of the supercharger can be done with flex tubing although a real pipe bent is better.

problem with this route is you end up with no software... you can go a-la ERT and go with a rising rate fuel regulator, or you could do an Apex'i AFC and have it tuned on a dyno.... neither one can control the ignition curves, which may affect how much boost you can run.

i might still do this. dunno. can't decide wtf to do.
