M3 swap into 318ti?

My brother wants to swap in an M3 motor in his '96 318ti. I think I've heard of this being done, but I don't think he's going to be able to do it. Do you guys know how hard this would be and approximately how much it would cost (motor, trans, labor, etc etc)? Is there a better and/or easier swap to do? Thanks

Very easy swap, get a donor car or it will nickle and dime you for all the small shit! You will need the electronics, ECU, harness, and AC stuff Also, replace the diff becasue you will blow up the old one with the new power increase if you are dumping the cluth.

What did everyone do for there exhaust? I have a custom bent unit now with a y adaptor, and it sucks ass, I hate it. Now it's rusting and i need to replace. So what kind of unit should I get? I was thinking of a dual system but might be too much trouble to do

considering the money you have already spent you might want to look into a Supersprint system made for the ti swap...it runs about $500. I just got a motor for my swap and I think this is what I might do, thinking about it; I could go custom and then run into problems and then do it all over...not sure yet.

Ayton, supersprint will not work. That system is for a 323ti, that motor only has one cat, one pipe etc. A S5-/S52 motor has dual cats, pipes etc.
