| PLZ HELP-Distributor Cap Numbering/Engine Problems 318i Here is what happened to me yesterday, any and all help and advice is greatly appreciated:
I was driving and the engine made a popping sound and the car died, me and my friends pushed it up a hill and let it roll down to one of their houses. Once there the car would not turn over and made a popping sound if we tried to, from a rolling start it would start but would idle low and have very little response when pressing the gas. We parked the car and tried to diagnose the problem, we replaced the sparkplugs and replaced the battery and the car started up well but when we went to drive it stalled out and would not start again. We pulled the spark plugs out and the brand new ones where now black and seemed like they had either gas or oil on them. I know the spark plug wires are not put back correctly on the DISTRIBUTOR CAP, SO IF SOMEONE KNOWS THE CORRECT NUMBERING FOR THE CAP (1234) PLZ PLZ POST IT. I am going today to get new spark plug wires because we can see sparking out of the spark plug holes, it was night time and its the popping sound we are hearing. DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY OTHER IDEAS AS WHAT I CAN REPLACE BESIDES THE SPARK PLUG WIRES AND I GUESS REPLACING THE SPARK PLUGS AGAIN?
Thanks a lot
