| Yeah, I'm all about the japanese turbo engine swap. You can get a low milage engine, turbo, computer, wiring, tranny, etc for 3000 (if you go for a 4 banger.. think WRX, Silvia, Lancer EVO). But those are japanese spec engines, but I'm sure you could find similar stuff in the US. I too want to see the guys that have done the Supra swap, hope you find that link. |

| yea, i would like to have more info on the supra too, uncm3: what cars were u talking about for 3k, Lancer EVO sounds nice, wrx seems to new to pick up for 3k. if you can list links where i can see specs and prices on these engines. about jdm motors. how about the skyline motor, and such |

| The place I was speaking of is Adelaide Jap from down under... 4G63 VR4 turbo - 2200 S14 Silvia turbo - 2500 WRX EJ20 turbo - 3750 RB25DET Skyline turbo - 4000 WRX STi turbo - 5750 RD26DETT Skyline twin turbo - 7000 There's a nice little range for you to go from. I don't remember if that's in aussie dollars or US, either way, good deal. S14 might be best deal, cover story for a magazine now, with over 450rwhp in Cali (if i remember correctly). |

| sounds like a good idea, but i think you'd end up w/ more problems than you want to deal with, but i really dont have many facts to back that up. also you're saying the engine would cost about 3k? plus the expenses to put it in and i'd plan on factoring in a few unexpected problems that will end up costing you even more ... my point being , you drop 3k+ into an ///M or 328 you'd be faster than the older camaro's that come w/ the LT1 engines, you'd have better handling, and you'd have an engine that will last much longer and have a much higher resale value ... especially if you could do that on an M, i have a stock 95m3 and i can already beat the LT1's stock, and hang neck and neck w/ the LS1's (97 up models) ... w/ even 1k in mods i'd probably take 'em ... just a thought ... |

| Actually, hooking up the computer would be the least of your worries, there are companies that make wiring harness' just for swaps like this into old muscle cars that have no computer at all. I dont think weight would be that much of a problem either, because the LS1 is aluminium (atleast the heads, correct me if i'm wrong) and the m50 is iron. The hardest part would be mounting the motor and fitting it between the shocktowers. |

| I apologize for the thread revival, but the ignorance in this thread amazes me...

| im not sure if it would fit into a 325 because it is such a big engine, where as the m3 engines take the 328 engine and bore it out, the corvett engine is much larger and probably wont have enough space to throw into the small 325 engine compartment
