3rd gear keeps slipping out on 325e!!And new mods upcoming for it.

Well. On Friday, when I was shifting from 2nd to 3rd, it slipped out 4 times in about 30 minutes. Since then I have alltogether skipped 3rd and just gone 2nd to 4th, which is no problem. I just wanted to tell you guys that. COuld it be a fork? This has been coming for some time now and is of no surprise to me cuz its been needing a new tranny anyways. It whines like a mofo. I went to San Diego and back (with some driving in SD with Uberpanzer and some other SD crew homies) without engaging 3rd gear, lol.

When my ///M3 gets out of the shop and is all ready, the 325 is going in for a tranny rebuild and Im also going to move the shock towers in the rear so that I dont have so damn much camber. Im going through tires like no ones business. Cant I just get some GC camber plates that add positive camber? Plus its going to get the straight pipes re-installed., and some Bilstein Sport shocks installed. A few other things here and there. Ill add to the list when I remember. Wish me luck, guys!! I LOVE this car!!! I dont know what I would do if I didnt have this car to comfort me while my ///m3 is away.

Mariano, that sucks man. Yea, get a nice tranny rebuild on it when you get the M back.

As far as the rear camber goes, the only way to correct it is with K-mac adjustable trailing arm bushes. You cannot get camber plates for the rear because it is not a "coil over shock" setup. You cannot move the spring or shock at all to get positive camber. I have done plenty of research on this because I am also eating tires like mad (one set every 4 months). Adj. bushes are the only way. BMP sells em for $180 but they take SEVERAL hours labor to install, and I do not recommend doing it yourself.

What shocks are on your car now?

I have the regular Bilsteins. My dad put them on back in '86 when he bought the car. I will definitely look into the adj. trailing arm bushings. Thanks.

Mariano..

You should talk to Lukas about the kmac rear ajd. bushes..

He just put them in his car.. and said it took out almost all the rear camber..

Stu: Where in the rear of the car are the adj. bushings installed?

On the trailing arm bushes, where the t-arm connects to the subframe.

There are other options then the k-Mac. Dinan makes a adjustbale rear subframe, and I think TMS has a option also. These are tabs that weld on the rear subframe and are slotted so you can adjust the toe and camber.

This is the best option. The K-macs do not like to stay in place when you track to drive hard.

Eibachs, and the ride is just WAAAAAY to spongy iver rolling bumps on the freeway, it just seems MUCH too soft. The fronts feel fine. I just hate how the rears feel, it wasnt always like this.

Damn marino you got some phat ass cars man. I just ordered my suspension and I know being 2.5 front and rear I am gonna have to do the rear subframe things and front camber plates cause I can't afford to go through tires like stu but he also does auto crossin alot so that helps I am sure. Marino you always seem to post the same threads at the same time that I do! Its freaky.
Peace
pete
