Hey Guys,

I need help with with my e36.

1. I pulled this code but don't know what it means. Code: dE

2. My temp needle is very slow to go to the mid point. What's with that?

3. As I start to drive it drops to the Blue area. Whats with that?

4. The heat does not get hot, it only gets warm but it's comfortable

inside on a cold day like today. Whats with that?

Has anybody experienced this?

Sounds like a t-stat is stuck open causing ur engine not to warm up enough....A good place to start... when u go to start the car in the morning... you need to monitor the temperature between the upper and lower radiator hose. if you stay clear of ur fan hold the upper radiator hose and the lower with ur other hand. continue to hold the 2 hoses while the car warms up and continues to idle. if both hose get hot together then your thermostat is stuck open and needs to be replaced. just a install note if you replace with a BMW t-stat which i would recomend over an aftermarket one make sure the arrow stamped in the metal t-stat is pointed up.If one hose gets hot and not the other then ur thermostat is ok and u will have to start troubleshooting some where else
