How to callibrate gauges after removing needles?

I wan't to get a new gauge face, not the overlays, but a custom replacement. So it will require taking the needles off, how can I callibrate the needles afterwards? I read somewhere about using audio sine waves that match the frequency of the speedo/tach, but the files were missing for download.

Any one done this?

why not put them back on in the same position mark them some how

That would be ok for the temp and fuel gauge, but the speedo and tacho have stopping pins, I am not sure, but I think if they were not there the needle would keep turning anti-clockwise, I could be wrong however. Anyone know for sure?

this guide has some pretty good tips for reinstalling the needles and having them be fairly accurate. this is probably what im going to do when i reassemble my cluster
