| Exhaust System for 94 318i There's been many threads and such about different exhaust systems for e36's Stromung Supersprint etc but i was really feeling the tone of the borla system but when i checked for parts the only system they had was for the 325i and the m3, but it says it fits the e36 Does anyone know or have made this system fit for the 94 318i? thanks |

| Just go full custom, it'll be cheaper, and the 318i doesn't have a decent sound IMO, performance exhaust or not... But get it custom done, mandrel bends, custom muffler etc

| HEY DAZZA.. WAT DO U MEAN BY CUSTOM DONE EXAUST... I HAV A 318IS AND I WANT A SPORTS EXAUST BUT I WANNA FIND ONE THAT WON'T MAKE IT SOUND LIKE A TIN CAN.. PREFERABLY AN EXAUST THAT IS MAINLY LOUDER AT HIGH REV AND HAS A SPORTY TONE TO IT.... IS THIS POSSIBLLE?? |

A custom sports exhaust system is fairly easy to go about, ask an exhaust shop to do it, Mandrel bends, straight through design and maybe a set of larger resonators and no muffler will give it a sporty sound without sounding like a tin can.... Just don't go putting a cannon tip on the end

| A straight through design has less back pressure so the gasses flow faster through the exhaust rather than being constricted through bends and the muffler... Kinda like if you're blowing into a straw, it'll be harder to blow if the straw has bends in it and an ear cleaner in the end of it... Same with a muffler, it restricts air flow... And power gain on a 318is wouldn't be much at all with sports exhaust system, somewhat around 5-8hp at the crank, the 4 cylinders lack heaps of power... I wouldn't bother getting twin pipes for a 1.8L engine as it's pointless and would only be cosmetic...

| thanx for the advice mate.. its really bothering me.. the more i read up on different exausts the more i get confused.. i've been trying to find some good videos of the different exausts on youtube so i can actually get to listen to some of them... although there aren't really any good ones.. i've looked at a one with a remus , a supersprint and a g force.. i liked the sound of the g force one it didn't sounded tinny at all .. sounded really sporty and performance like.. and the remus wasn't that bad when it was reving either although when it took off it sounded like a typical cannon exaust.. which i don't want at all.. i want something that isn't going to be loud at low revs and to make me look like an idiot.. but when i'm in the mood and feel like opening the car up a bit.. i want to be able to hear a nice sporty sound... sooo what do you think... |

| If you're willing to spend alot of money, go for a Supersprint exhaust, youtube video's don't do justice because the sounds is distorted, better to hear in person... But the cheaper option with the same result would be a custom exhaust setup
