i would start out with a chip and work the stock motor till it cant take no more than turbo it. you would get more power with the turbo than with a m3 set up.

I'll be going with a custom turbo setup eventually, and would suggest that. Sure you can buy the s/c kit for 4400, but then you're a little stuck power-wise. Sure, 300hp seems fine for now, but what about after driving it for 6 months and deciding you want more? After that AA kit, there isn't much left to do except the basic i/h/e stuff, without tearing the motor down. Those wont yield that much of a gain. Custom turbo's will cost a little bit more, but, 300hp shouldn't be difficult to achieve with a correctly sized turbo and some support. Larger injectors and a well pieced kit with a good tune would get you there and then some, i'm guessing. My ultimate goal is 450whp, and still be streetable. Just gives you something to think about when you finally get down and decide. Keep in mind if you're going turbo, you'll more than likely have to scrap any i/h/e you buy for your car while it's N/A. ![]() |

You can run a basic turbo kit with stock internals and a thicker headgasket for less than the price of the supercharger, if you search. I never said you could build a turbo 450hp car for less than it will cost to get your car supercharged to 300.

i think its better to get the M power...cause u`ll get headech from tuning, but M power is pure 289hp and its easy to hit 350hp with it just little changes like cams..ECU..air intake filter...manifold intake....exhaust kit ...etc.... Last edited by Ayesh; 02-16-2009 at 11:19 PM..

I agree with this, because I was looking at buying an m3 engine for my car but it was going to cost me $1200 for a higher milaged used one and for a descent low milaged one about $2300 and then to have it professionally installed about $1100, but also you would have to change a lot of different things just to make the engine correct with your car, which adds up quickly.

I don't get where you all are getting that a turbo is more expensive??? I don't believe they are, and the biggest bonus to a turbo is the adjustability. You can start low and build up from there. With a supercharger you have to not only look at the ridiculous price of the unit to start with but also down the road when you decide you want more power. Now which is easier- turning a knob on a manual boost controller or changing pulleys and all that crazy stuff, which also only nets a couple lbs. Thats my input ; )
