Rattling after hitting bumps...

Every time I hit a bump I hear rattling coming from the rear of my sedan. It just recently happened. I doubt its coming from the trunk. I hit the top ceiling of the roof from inside the car towards the back window and I could hear rattling. Any ideas as to what is loose and how would I go about fixing it?

If u have sunroof, that may be the culprit. BMW has been known to have rattling sunroofs. Probably a linkage or something. Best best is to drop the headliner and rule out any other possibilities.

how do you drop the headliner? is it pretty easy to do?

Fairly. Remove the sunvisors and trim, front and rear. Will drop without too much headache.
