| My experience may be of limited value to you because my cars spend most of their lives under 45 mph, they rarely see a mountain, rarely see rain, NEVER go over 80 mph, and don't go to the track, even as a spectator. My criteria are: no excessive fade, quiet, predictable, low cost, clean. I pay $40-$50 per set of four pads, so I am not buying the high end pads from any of the suppliers. Another problem is that suppliers may change their pads more often then our pads wear out, so historical experience with a brand may not be very useful.
All that being said. Here is 60k miles of brake experience on one of my e36s.
Pagid was awful. Noisy, grabby at low speed, wheels always black, wore out in less than two years.
Jurid replaced the Pagids. Much better in every regard. Lasted twice as long.
PBR Delux replaced the Pagids. VERY clean wheels. No noise. My only observation is that stopping the car requires more pedal pressure than with the other two brands. After a couple of days, you get accustomed to pressing the pedal harder and you don't notice it any more. I will get these pads when my e46 pads need replacing. On the e46 330, the BMW branded pads are very grabby and the M-style wheels (which are a bear to clean) are always filthy. These PBR Delux pads will be perfect for that car. |
