dashboard lights

Hello,

does anyone know how to change dashboard lights?
The oil temperature backlight and main lights nob light do not work and I would like to replace these.

If you mean the cluster lights, then you have to take it out and then after that you just pull out the bulbs and replace them. To get the cluster out you have to remove the two screws in the top. Then just use like a putty knife to get behind it and slowly jimmy it out. hope that helped!

And be careful removing the harness from the back of the cluster. If you break the arm that locks it in place.....well......just dont.(hopefully you wont have to..and removing the wheel will help things immensly, but you will then need to fix the airbag light)

I also need to get behind the headlight knob to have that changed, will this been done in the same way? or is this completely seperate?

if you look directly under the headlight switch there is a BOLT or a screw, just take it out and the headlight switch and vent will slide out i believe! its all one piece. hope that helps!

It surprised me how difficult it was to get the vent to snap free from the air duct, and then to snap back in to it again. If felt like I was going to break something, but it is quite tough. Once you get the headlight switch out, you have to look carefully to find the bulb socket on the light switch. It is not as obvious as the bulb sockets elsewhere in the dash, but it is on there.

Are you guys firmiliar with the head light switch wires or where i could hook up power to these new guages i have for my cluster have the cluster out the new gauges in and the head light switch out but dont know wich wires i can splice into so when i turn on the other lights my new gauges light up as well?

Disconnect the battery if your mucking about with the air bag!

Save having to reset the airbag light as James pointed out.

Yes snaping the duct work out and puting it in was painful to me too still have mine out thought for the second time trying to get these wires hooked up....

Behind the headlight switch, there should be two gray wires one controls the left markers and the other controls the right markers, use a relay, on either on of these wires. If you need help wiring the relay, let me know...
