sun roof won't close what can i do

i was drivein its a nice day out side so i put the sun roof back i never had a problem with the sun roof before but now i do it won't close is there any way to close it

Check the owners manual. There is a way to manually close it.

I've never done it, but I believe you open up the sunroof access panel near the windshield. There should be some kind of bolt or screw you can turn to manually close it.

if you have your tool kit get out that allen wrench looking tool then take off your cover where the sunroof switch is and just stick it in the matching hole and it should close

its easier if you have a drill with an allen wrench bit. but my car also has problems closing the sunroof every once in awhile but if i leave it alone and try it a few minutes later it will work and from what ive read alot of e36 owners have the same problem. but yeah just pop the panel off that contains the sunroof switch and look for the allen screw it'll be in plain sight.
