can someone help me out with my sunroof?

i have a 92 325i and the sunroof works 1 out of 2 ways. it opens as a sunroof but gets stuck when i try to open just the top portion. you guys know what i mean? is there a way to fix it myself or do i need to take it in professionally?

My tilt wasn't working and when I took the sunroof apart it turned out the lifting arms had broken. I got some replacements from the $tealer, and now it works again.

It isn't that hard to do, but it can be a pain trying to realign the sunroof again, and some people have trouble moving the headliner (you'll see what I mean). Not sure how much labor would be to have a shop do it.

I've been told 3 hours labor for most sunroof work, so multiple that by your shop's going rate. $280 or so at my shop, $450 at the nearest dealer.
