| Well lets see, when you have 1000hp you must have a good tranny.... It isnt like BMW stock parts are remotely stout for this type of power. Get either a m3 Evo 6 speed, or have your 5 speed done up with better shift forks, and cryo the shit out of it. Mitsu trannies are the notchiest SOB's ever, but built properly they have been show to handle 1200+ AWHP and never touched again.

You can't make 1000 hp on a log manifold with a S50B32. That's it, end of story. Head over to BF.c and truck across to the FI section and search "mert"

| 72 km/h in first gear 121 km/h in second gear 183 km/h in third gear 246 km/h in fourth gear 304 km/h in fifth gear 340 km/h in sixth gear, electronically limited I've seen vids of this M3 looong ago, it cannot be a 1000hp!! It pulled away from a Ferrari F355 "slowly"!!!, it also raced a Diablo VT and got beaten in some stretches, but when it pulled away it was again "slowly"! Could be another car fromthe same group, maybe... |

| I think the turbo on the intake side of the engine is a great idea... on the porsche 944 turbo, it lowered the intake temp 145degrees f I think. Whats strange to me is how it makes 1000hp on 96 octane gas, and that they dont need an adjustable boost controller. They said something about being driven every day at 30 psi. I think this dude is full of shit. I can believe that they run a "sprint" 1000hp on high boost and race gas, and then run it at about 500-600 hp for every day on 96 octane. On my eclipse gst, I get nervous running it on high boost for anything more than a few quick runs, and bring it back down to normal. (I went through 3 turbos ,spun a rod bearing , and I need a set of piston rings already.... I learn the hard way )Did they find new technology to run the s50/s52 at RELIABLE 1000hp that the rest of the world was missing? I doubt it, most FI M3s are running about 300-400hp ( on a budget tune ) and about 500-750 ( on the "bottomless pit pocket " tuning ). The porsche 911 turbo engines my father built for racing get up to about 600-650hp (3.3l), and need to get rebuilt fairly frequently. I do think 1000hp is possible since the skylines and supras do it, but if you go to a dyno fest, they often blow the head gaskets or something on the dyno. But not this guy, he claims a 1000hp on pump gas at 30psi...just rebuild the motor every 24000 miles. Is that on normal driving to get groceries? I wonder how long it lasts using autoX seasons or club racing.... I must say that bmw in the 80s did make a 1.5l motor with 1300hpish for formula 1 racing...but I am sure they did more to the block than throw a nice set of forged pistons and rods ... |
