Battery Light

When I first start my car and start driving away, for the first few seconds (within 15 or so) it looks like the battery light is trying to come on. But its only a very dim flicker for a few seconds and then goes away. What does this mean?

Youre alternator is charging very weak, it'll probably stop working at all in the near future. Had the same with my 325i and when waiting for a traffic light my engine went out of it's mind, starting to rev automatically. Really weird, but the only thing was that the alternator was worn out. Had it restored by a specialist and everything was just fine.
You're probably running on your battery by now which isn't being charged anymore so if the battery is empty you'll get the same behaviour.
