| Bad FM reception from my New Head Unit I just installed the new Kenwood XXV-01D head unit in my car. For some reason most of the FM stations come in very Staticky. I can bearly make it out most of the time. I installed the antenna adapter and this sounds like shit. Any suggestions on how to fix would be appreciated!!!!

| Is there static present while playing CDs or just the radio? If there is than its possible some of your connections are bad. When I was trying to put in my headunit, the extra wiring made for little room for my headunit to fit flush and upon forcing mine in, I had loosened some connections that created a static sound. I have head of other possiblities that cause static but I can't remember all to well, one I think was a bad ground which might cause static. Please if someone reads this and i am incorrect about the bad ground theory please correct me |

| there is a wire supposed to be powered so the antenna amplifier will work. its the white brown on some cars, blue on some others. Dont get fooled by the power amp remote, not the same thing. There is 2 outputs on your new head unit, one is a remote turn on for power amps, and the other one is a plain power antenna. connect this one to the blue one. hth Pat Allen Last edited by patallen : 01-11-2006 at 02:57 PM. |
