Question Question abot my m3

I was told one performance gain was to remove my acs throttle body in order for the car to no down bog when you put it to full throttle?? it sounds like it works in his cause he say to replace it with a stock elbowfrom a 98 m roadster! i just want to know will this hurt my car please reply 98 m3

You will get better airflow if you remove the ASC throttle body, but if you just want to prevent the car from bogging... Turn the traction control off.

I removed my ASC throttle body a couple years ago. Haven't missed it one bit.

thanks!

I did turn it off but it still switches on at high rpm if the rear end comes loose! but thanks for the advice i will be taking it off!

my car does the same thing. it turns itself back on and its really anoying. So how exactly do i go about removing the asc unit?

First, you need to get the appropriate elbow. The elbow from the M-Roadster works in an OBD-II engine, but it's missing a fitting for an OBD-I engine. If you do a search on here or Bimmerforums, you can probably find the correct part numbers.

After that, it's just a matter of loosening the clamps at each end of the ASC throttlebody, disconnecting any hoses, unhooking any cables, and taking the unit out. Then you install the appropriate elbow, reconnecting any hoses, and tucking the cables out of the way somewhere (I have them zip-tied to some other wires nearby).

If the ASC light bothers you, you can pull the gauge cluster and remove the bulb, or if you wait long enough, the bulb will eventually burn itself out

Only 4 door come with it...
