Airbox debaffle flat spot @ 4k rpms

Is this true when you debaffle a stock airbox? I saw this in a thread located on Bimmerforums that it farts out at 4000 rpms after you debaffle the airbox...what the hell? Its just a baffle/silencer, how would it do that, or does it even do that?? I just dont see how, but if anyone has heard of this happening after doing this mod lemme know cuz i'm about to do it tomorrow.

Before I got my CAI I had a debaffled airbox. I didn't notice any flat spots at all.

that someone had a clog or a dirty filter, thats the only possible source of flat spots, unless engine management is on crack.

yeah I noticed no flat spots after removing the baffle today. I'm also running it with a k&N panel filter as well, yet the car really sounds no different then b4, nor does it seem that that there was any increase in hp/trq. I dunno, maybe its just me...

Ohwell, at least it gets better airflow now.
