well i have a bentley service manual but its doesnt really get into the tierod section

I honestly just don't understand what isn't completely self explanitory when it comes to installing a tie rod...have you ever changed suspension parts before bro?

Personally, there is no need for any airtools for installing suspension parts...which is most likely why you stripped the threads. Good luck, get a torque wrench and lose that airgun.

got it done, sorry its my first time changing tierods, and yes i have changed suspension parts before bro. just needed some advice.

I use air tools on suspension parts everyday. What's wrong with that?

Nothings really wrong with it, it's just that commonly nuts and bolts are overtightened when using air tools. I replaced the entire suspension on my car and never once used any air tools. I just think you get a better feeling with using a manual torque wrench. The ft/lbs classifications on bmw's is so important I wouldn't personally use them. Now, taking stuff off is another matter, in which case I just use a breakover bar.
