| [diff question] is it possible.... ...is it possible to change the output flanges or the axle flanges on a differential? i see the part numbers but i would like to know if it is actually possible and if it is time consuming. thanks in advance. |

| Output flanges are easy, pry the off ans slip the new ones on. Input flange is a little trickier.

| Where did u find the part number for that? I have heard of people changing the lock up on their diff themselves. I dont really understand the differential components(in terms of LSD or % lockup) |

This should give you a good idea of what's involved. You may not need to remove the differential from the car. http://home.comcast.net/~matthew.c.s...afts/index.htm |

| IMO changing the axle flanges would be easier since u can work with them easier than working with the differential...u'll have to take out the diff housing from its place if u want to change the output flanges! then u'll have to feed in the diff oil again! i donno if i'm completely correct, but i'd do the axles for these reasons ![]() Last edited by deep throat : 03-05-2005 at 08:43 AM. |
