Anyone replaced a 92 E36 system? I have a 93 325i (10 speaker), and it's time to get a new stereo. Here's what I'm putting in: Head Unit: Nakamichi MD-75 In-dash CD Changer Front Speakers: MB Quart E36 Soundset (that's right, they don't make this anymore, and it's brand new!) Rear: MB Quart 4" Components Component Amp: A/D/S 850 (Bridging 8 channels to 4, running 100 watts/ channel @ 4ohms) Subs: 2 Kicker Comp 8" Sub Amp: Fosgate 250a2 (for now) Here's the problem: I don't know whick wires go from the stock amp to the front speakers. Anyone ever worked with this system? Also, anybody have anyidea how I should mount it?

| sounds awesome. I was gonna get that Nakimichi head unit also, but at the last minute i opted for a pioneer 7300 deck. It sounded better, but it didnt look as stock... it's a tradeoff. That system sounds like it would kick ass. Why arent you going with 10" or 12" subs though? If you are just running 2 8"s you could could go with the fosgate Punch 150 amp (single channel) which peaks at 400 watts, it would probably fit your application better. Peace, Sol

your system sounds like its gonna be awsome, exept you wont be able to hear the subs, I have 2 12" solobaric L7s in my 325is 92 and can hardly hear it until i cut out the rear deck cover, then it was day and night difference.

Really!? Until a few days ago, I was running a single Rockfor 12" (the really old ones) off of the 250a2. I had no problem hearing it, and the gain on the amp was all the way down. Perhaps you've had your music a bit loud. What amp are you running? Those Solobarics need a ton of power to run clean.Last edited by DiscoStu : 11-07-2001 at 03:33 AM.

Rennen basically hit the nail on the head. The factory wires won't be able to handle the amount of power you will be pushing through them. Basically you will be replacing all of your speakers for nothing if you use the factory wires. Grab yourself some 12 or 14 Guage wire, and start from scratch. I can tell you that you are going to need some space and some time to do it right. And make sure you run ALL of the cables down the left (drivers) side, because you main power cable runs down the left. It's a long and tedious process, but in the end your ears will thank you for it.
