| disconnecting battery on 97m3?.. i just bought a 97 m3 and disconnected the battery so i could take out the amp that was in the back now the car wont start, it turns but wont turn over fully, someone said that when disconnecting the battery the computer resets and the car wont start true? help bmw will charge so much! |

| If your engine is not turning over the whole way its definately not a fuel problem. Its probably a bad battery or faulty cables or possibly a bad starter. If it is turing over fine take a hammer and LIGHTLY tap the fuel pump that usually bumps it going if it a bad fuel pump. Disconnecting the battery does reset the computer but the worse thing that could happen is that you would have some drivability issues and you might have to go through a relearn procedure. |
