I know of a mod where a fuel cell is put where the spare goes for racing. Might be access to that...

that's where most of us put our cells. But that doesn't look like any breakaway I've ever seen before. Usually they have a spring loaded vent hole in the center of the bigger hole.

It simply looks like a reflector to me.. Could be wrong though.. Perhaps for rainy conditions etc..
